When sports is being talked about and you try to engage the audience with a little English football conversation your treated like a leper. Not to mention the shit jokes made by people who know jack shit about the sport. I thought I would get a little street cred for being anti-soccer in the past but people just roll their eyes when I tell them how wrong I was.
So I am left to tweet about the game I love with those across the pond. Even my boss from Wolverhampton dosnt watch or talk about football. I think he just fakes the accent because no self respecting Brit would turn away from their team.
Does anyone else out there have the same problem? I tried to remedy it but I was screwed in the ASS by the Ars. I talked 8 people over from work who openly were not interested in "football". I spent 400 bucks painting my living room, updating some furniture, and getting food and beer. The game was set, a second leg showdown between Barcelona and Arsenal. I couldnt sleep the night before, I thought for sure I am going to get at least one person interested in the beautiful game.
Well the game was SHIT. Arsenal unlike Tottenham are a bunch of pussies that clog the midfield and dont attack because their to god damn scared to put Barcelona down. Everyone left that evening without so much as changing their opinion a smidgen.
